Karina & Andy – City of Fremont Trash the Dress Portrait Session

JeZa photographed Karina & Andy’s wedding back in May of 2009, their wedding was our very 1st wedding gig ever!! Since then Karina & Andy did not get enough of us and wanted us to do a trash the dress/post-wedding portrait session. We finally got our acts together to do this on a beautiful August Saturday in City of Fremont. We can tell this newly wed are madly in-love with each other and super duper easy to work with.

Had a lot of fun hanging out with them and here are the images from this session:

Sweet Romance Boudoir Session Teasers

It was such a romantic project to do this boudoir shoot on last Saturday. As I watched the makeup artists and stylist prepping the set, I kept asking myself “Is this reality or it is a dream?”, both Je & I felt so surreal because we were surrounded by these four highly desirable, astonishing ladies on this beautiful day. On top of that, I am thankful for all the talents who came because we shared a single vision – to ROCK the fashion world with our feminine version of romantic lingerie looks. We had a total blast during the shoot and I thought I was in a boudoir party at many moments during the shoot too: we had a lot of laughs, snacked on junk food, talked about boys and shared many silly jokes. Most importantly, this shoot would not be successful without ANY of our crew member missing. Thank you Jeremy, Jessie, Sophie, Aine, Germaine, Crystal, Amber and Miyouko. You guys ROCK!!!

Also big thanks to Scott Robert Lim my photography mentor who taught us about posing & model interaction; also Len Cook from our community college photography instructor who taught us about lighting set up. These skills became VERY handy for the shoot. THANK YOU!

J e Z a Loves Hong Kong II – Featuring Miss JuJu Chan

It was our privilege to collabrate with miss JuJu Chan during our photography workshop with Scott Robert in October of this year. I knew about JuJu from watching a Hong Kong reality TV series - ”The Great Battle of a Wealthy Man Living in Proverty” (official name ”窮富翁大作戰”). I was so intrigued by her mission: to live in confine cage home for 7 days; then she has to work as a waitress in a cafe restaurant during the day and take care and provide tutor to a new immigrant kid - Simon at night. It’s an inspiring show and gave me a deeper level of understanding of a complex social problem in the Hong Kong – the huge gap between the poor and the wealthy. From watching this show, I also now have a new understanding of Simon’s Mom, how difficult it is for her to live as an immigrant and her struggles everyday just to bring home food and provide shelter for little Simon.

JuJu gave up her luxury living lifestyle for this one week journey; she not only helpped Simon to improve on his school works, she also continued to mentor him even after the show has ended. I truly think JuJu is not only a pretty pageant girl, she is such an sincere person who is willing to squeeze her precious time outside of work to help underprivileged kids. I think the HK entertainment industry need more people like her to be a role model for teens and children to learn from. HUGE PROPS for JUJU! You can watch her show from this youtube link here.
